In this beginner-friendly class, students will explore the fascinating process of cast glass fusing—the art of arranging and melting layers of colorful glass at extreme temperatures to form beautiful sculptural shapes.You’ll learn the fundamentals of cutting, and designing with art glass, then create two unique sea-inspired pieces, each approximately 3–4 inches in size. Students will work in pairs and share a mold. No prior experience is needed. Space is limited to 12 students.Cost:Class-FreeMaterials: $50 (cash collected the day of class)Your finished glass pieces will be kiln-fired off-site and will be available for pickup at the Barrier Island Center once firing is complete. There is also an option to have your project shipped to you with prepayment.
