The Medina Triennial is partnering with the New York Power Authority Sustainability Team to host Canal Clean Sweep 2026 — a volunteer clean-up along the Erie Canal Heritage Trail in Medina.

This is a great opportunity to come together as a community, care for our shared outdoor spaces, and help keep one of Medina's most scenic and beloved trails beautiful for everyone. The Erie Canal Heritage Trail is also home to several of the Triennial's outdoor commissions this summer — so this is a chance to get acquainted with these special sites before the exhibition opens in June.

We'll meet at the Bates Road entrance to the Erie Canal Heritage Trail (parking lot) and work our way west toward Medina Falls, collecting litter and debris along the way. Whether you can stay for the full two hours or just stop by for part of it, your help makes a real difference.

What to bring: — Work gloves (if you have them) — Comfortable shoes for walking — Water bottle

Trash bags will be provided. 

All ages are welcome — bring a friend, a neighbor, or just yourself. Let's make a visible impact together and enjoy some time outdoors along the canal.
