- **Event Description**: Medina Community Band will present their final concert of the 2025 Summer Concert Series – on Friday, July 25th, at 8:00 p.m., in the Uptown Medina Square Gazebo.There is ample parking and no admission charge to the concert. There is the no rain site for this concert. Medina Community Band under the batons of Dr. Darren LeBeau, associate conductor and Marcus L. Neiman, conductor.Featured soloists for the evening will be Matthew Hastings, tuba, performing the James Ord Hume arrangement of Geo Frederick Handel’s “The Harmonious Blacksmith” and Hannah Tramonte, soprano soloist, performing the Warren Barker arrangement of Irving Berlin’s They Can’t Take That Away From Me,” and the Warren Barker arrangement of Harold Arlen’s Somewhere Over the Rainbow from The Wizard of Oz. Featured saxophone ensemble consisting of Robert Moore and Margo Miller (on alto saxophone); Marcia Warden (on tenor saxophone), and Gwen Strehle (on baritone saxophone). The Medina Community Band’s program will include the Henry Fillmore arrangement of Franz von Suppé’s Poet and Peasant Overture; the Robert Longfield arrangement of George Butterworth’s Banks of Green Willow; and Frank Ticheli’s Loch Lomond. The community band will also feature R.B. Hall’s march Palatinus; Kenneth Alford’s march Vanished Army and John Philip Sousa’s Homeward Bound and Stars and Stripes Forever. And for sing-along lovers of all ages, the band will perform Edwin Franko Goldman’s Children’s March. We encourage those attending to take note that our new starting time will be 8:00 p.m. The concert will last approximately 60 to 70 minutes.
