- **Event Description**: Kick off the 2026 fishing season at Lake Elmer Thomas Recreation Area with the first Bass Fishing Tournament of the year on March 7. 

Anglers will begin casting at 7 AM (March, April, September), with a weigh-in scheduled for 1 PM. Entry is $25 per angler, with cash prizes awarded for Biggest Bag Weight and Biggest Bass. An optional Biggest Bass side entry is available for an additional $10.

Additional tournaments will take place throughout the year on April 11, May 9, June 13, July 11, August 8, and September 13. First cast times for March, April, and September tournaments begin at 7 AM. All other months begin at first light. This event is open to the public. 

A maximum of two anglers is allowed per boat, and a valid fishing license is required. Prize amounts are based on the number of participants. For more information, visit our Facebook page or call (580) 574-4664.

Early registration available during operating hours at LETRA office. Participation will be limited to the first 27 boats to register.
