- **Event Description**: The 2026 Leadership Class of the The Chamber of Medford & Jackson County is proud to announce the completion of a new tiny home at Joy Community, marking a significant milestone in its annual community service project. The tiny home will provide safe, stable housing for a local senior in need and represents the class’s commitment to addressing one of Southern Oregon’s fastest-growing challenges: senior housing insecurity.

Selected as the recipient of the Leadership Class’s annual project, Joy Community is developing a unique tiny home neighborhood designed specifically for seniors experiencing homelessness or housing instability. The organization provides long-term housing and a supportive community environment where older adults can live with dignity, security, and connection. 

The Leadership Class launched its project with a goal of raising $30,000 to support the design and construction of additional tiny homes at Joy Community. Every dollar raised was dedicated directly to building costs and expanding housing opportunities for seniors in the Rogue Valley.

Joy Community was founded to address the growing number of seniors who find themselves without stable housing due to rising living costs, fixed incomes, loss of family support, or other life circumstances. The organization’s model emphasizes long-term housing, dignity, and community rather than temporary shelter solutions. 

The completion of the Leadership Class tiny home advances Joy Community’s mission of creating a safe, welcoming neighborhood where seniors can age with dignity and purpose. The project also highlights the power of community partnerships and leadership in addressing critical local needs.

A ribbon-cutting celebration will recognize the completion of the tiny home and the collective efforts of donors, volunteers, business leaders, and community partners who helped make the
