This presentation explores how dementia affects family relationships, roles, and emotional well-being throughout the progression of the disease. Families often experience shifting responsibilities, communication challenges, and increased caregiving demands. We will discuss how families can adapt to these changes.

Since Bonnie Nuttkinson was a young girl she has been interacting and caring for people with dementia and their caregivers. Previously she was a professional caregiver while in grad school and spent seven years working and volunteering with the Alzheimer’s Association. Bonnie has a Master’s in Family Studies & Human Development from UW-Stout. Her focus is on Dementia Care and Caregiver Research. When not working she loves spending time with her fur babies; Frankie, Boots with the Fur, Tazz, Toby and Archie.
