- **Event Description**: Join me for our monthly Invasive Plants Medford walk and talk the Sunday before Christmas. We'll meet up at the new Clippership Connector trailhead across from the Clippership Parking Lot before walking along the the river.

We're going to be specifically discussing some of the lesser known but extremely common invasive trees in our community that are part of the buckthorn family: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?place_id=159564&subview=map&taxon_id=49041 including Common Buckthorn (Rhamnus cathartica) and Glossy Buckthorn (Frangula alnus) but we will also encounter another invasive tree, Black Locust (Robinia pseudoacacia).

We will review some winter identification strategies for woody trees and shrubs and document any invasive plants we find. This area falls within a in a wetland setback so intervention will require a restoration plan with Conservation Commission approval so documentation will be critical to that effort.

After the walk, we can head to the Mrs. Murphy's to warm up and continue the discussion.
