Use old teacups, plates, and other painted pottery bits and other old small items you might have (or use mine!) to create a truly unique piece of art. Picasiette is a French term meaning, essentially, “stolen from plate” – pieces of broken pottery, glass, buttons, figurines, even jewelry are cemented onto a base to create a new surface.  You can use any surface, so an old plate, bowl, or piece of wood, can become your base, or you can choose a new surface at the workshop. In any case, you will cover it up to create your art. Cool portraits, abstracts, and even landscapes are possible using this technique.

Additional info:
(Optional): Bring old treasures that you might want to use. You can break them at the workshop if you wish. Pottery and metal work well.

You will grout your artwork (for protection and a more complete look) on your own time. You will go home with a grout packet and instructions. Don’t worry; grouting is easy and fun! If you don’t want to attempt this step, you can opt for the instructor to grout it for an extra charge of $15, payable at the workshop. Grouted pieces will be available to pick up the following week.
