- **Event Start and End Date**: Mon, 22 Jun, 2026 at 10:30 am – Mon, 22 Jun, 2026 at 03:00 pm
- **Event Description**: One of the strengths of the RVGS Library is the depth and breadth of resources for researching the people of Jackson County, Oregon. This is the result of the efforts of an incredible number of dedicated volunteers for many years, from the formation of RVGS in 1966 to the present. Two of the earliest efforts focused on obituaries and cemeteries. Death certificates were added when they became available, as were marriage and birth records. Other sources of information about people of Jackson (and some Josephine) County have also been collected, indexed, and in some cases published. An incredible amount of this information is now searchable on the RVGS website: rvgslibrary.org. Other resources are also available. If you have any ancestors who lived in Jackson County or if you are interested in learning more about the people who are the history of the Rogue Valley, come for the day. Anne Billeter will teach the Class from 10:30 AM - Noon. Bring your lunch, then stay for the practice session from 1:00-3:00 PM. The SOHS Archivist will give a tour of the SOHS Research Library for class attendees from 11 AM - Noon on Thursday, June 25 and again on Tuesday, June 30.
