Children ages 10+ welcome if accompanied by an adult.About Boot: Roland “Boot” Boutwell, a freelance itinerant naturalist, has been leading nature walks for the Friends of the Fells for over 25 years. He has also led walks and/or taught botany programs for a number of other organizations including The Trustees of Reservations, Arlington Community Education, The Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions, Winchester public schools, Wright-Locke Farm in Winchester, The New England Wild Flower Society and the Massachusetts Audubon Society.About the walk: It’s summer, and the area around Bellevue Pond is in full flower. We’ll do a circuit of Bellevue Pond and then head into the woods to check out some upland wildflowers. The walk will focus on plant ID as well as fun and interesting natural history about the plants we see. And of course there’ll be a poem or two. Meet at the Bellevue Pond Parking Lot opposite #70 South Border Rd in Medford. PARKING TIGHT, ARRIVE EARLY! Steady rain cancels.**Please do not register unless you can absolutely attend this walk.
