Join us on a meaningful hike along Darb Rafqa, tracing the path from Fghal to Wadi Harba and Jrabta. The trail embraces the source of waters, hidden hermit caves, and old stone houses and churches. Along the way, we will visit the monasteries of St. Rafqa and St. Hardini, immersing ourselves in their legacy of faith, resilience, and devotion. Our journey culminates in a joyful gathering for lunch at Kfifane, where nature, heritage, and fellowship come together around the shared table. WHAT TO EXPECT ? Morning Kickoff: Breakfast Stop at a local bakery to fuel up for the journey ahead. ? Hike from Fghal village towards Wadi Harba and Jrabta Two levels available for the hike: Choose your path: • All hikers (both levels) will begin the trail from Fghal village. • Level 1: Easy hike from Fghal to Wadi Harba & Jrabta (Total path ≤ 5.5 km – easy level – Total descent:150 m. Total ascent: 150 m.) ? • Level 2: Moderate hike from Fghal to Wadi Harba, then participants will continue towards a pine forest in Jrabta passing by St. Michel Church then back to Jrabta (Total path ≤ 8.5 km – moderate level – Total descent: 330 m. Total ascent: 330 m.) • In Fghal: Visit one of the oldest churches carved in rock (St. Sarkis & Bakhos). • In Wadi Harba: Discover the hermitage of St. Antonio, old springs, bridges, and historic churches. • Level 2 hikers: Continue through pine forest to the old St. Michael Church before returning to Jrabta. • Both groups reunite at the Monastery of Ste. Rafqa in Jrabta. • The journey will end with a gathering for lunch in Kfifane (you pay for what you order). • Opportunity to visit Ste. Rafqa Monastery and St. Hardini Monastery. It is home to the Church of Saint Michael Archangel and the Church of Saint Anthony the Great, both central to village life. Jrabta is a charming, tranquil village in the Batroun district of North Lebanon, known for its serene, hilly landscape and spiritual significance, primarily as the home of the Saint Rafqa Monastery.
