We will warm up by exploring our color palette and the unique colors found at sunset. I will begin by demonstrating some techniques to landscape painting in watercolor, focusing on how to get that perfect sunset gradient with the right colors. We'll then apply these skills to a full painting based on a reference photo I've provided. You're also welcome to bring your own reference photo if you'd like to make your postcard extra personal!You'll take home a finished painting on postcard paper that is ready to stick in the mail! You'll also leave with a set of artist's skills that you'll be able to directly apply to future paintings - whether you paint in your bedroom or plein air out in nature. A limited palette of watercolors and high quality watercolor postcard paper will be provided at the event, but you are encouraged to bring your favorite painting supplies as well.
