ABILITY REQUIREMENTS Experience with your pistol-mounted optic, including acquiring your sights, delivering an accurate hit under time constraints, and accuracy sufficient to shoot Dyal’s 5 Yard Round-Up clean with a 4-second par time for each stage. Additionally, the completion of a defensive handgun class that includes holster work/reloads/stoppages, as well as an understanding of how to practically apply the 4 Safety Rules, specifically Rule #3, without endangering a neighboring shooter. TOPICS COVERED After a classroom discussion on human factors and a warm-up, the class will begin working through a variety of drills to cover the subject matter. These will include: increasing breadth and depth of vision; visual attention; response to stimulus; cognitive load; EXPECTATIONS AND OUTCOMES By the day’s end, you will have applied your decision-making and shooting skills to solving Don't Shoot/Shoot problems while managing the impact of perception and visual processing. Your skills in accuracy, manipulation, and mechanics will be incorporated into each iteration.
