My next Smalti workshop, in conjunction with Mosaic Bazaar and Smalti Australia, will be held on Sunday 16th November, at Aldinga Community Shed, Aldinga Community Centre, Symonds Reserve, Butterworth Rd, Aldinga Beach SA. 10am until 4pm.
This workshop will offer students the opportunity to purchase Smalti 'as they create their mosaic' direct from Mosaic Bazaar and Smalti Australia. This is unique in Australia and we conduct ONLY two of these workshops per year. The stunning travelling colour library of Smalti is something to behold and a fun way to create your piece, with the ability to view the colours and choose as you create your piece. You will be supplied with a substrate and a centre piece of either Agate (as per photos) or a hand made ceramic piece. Each will be unique. Appropriate adhesive will also be supplied. You can be a beginner to Smalti, or have some experience working with this beautiful material. You will learn about the production and history of Smalti, the basics of cutting Smalti, basic design and applying Smalti to a substrate.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING:
Twin wheel glass cutters
A small palette knife (available to purchase on the day OR you can buy these from art supply stores.)
Tweezers
A notebook (optional)
Containers for Smalti (optional)
Your lunch (tea, coffee etc will be supplied)
** Please note, Our workshop will be open to the public for just Smalti sales from 3.30pm to 4.30pm ONLY. This is a great opportunity to see Smalti in the flesh and purchase.
COST OF WORKSHOP $150 plus your Smalti purchase on the day (approx $50-$60)
A non refundable deposit of $50 is payable upon booking with me. Your place is NOT secure/confirmed, until this deposit is paid.
