- **Event Name**: The Ceramic Initiative 2026
- **Event Start and End Date**: Fri, 09 Jan, 2026 at 09:00 am – Sun, 11 Jan, 2026 at 04:00 pm
- **Event Description**: Throwing and Mishima with Mark Epstein: Mishima is a multi step technique that involves carving fine lines or patterns into a clay surface and filling with colored slips, underglazes or glaze. Plus working with a fiery hand torch (and learning the steps to safely handle on - each student will have all day access while in Mark's session).

Alternative Firing with Randy Brodnax: many methods, many favorites but only Randy will decide what is on tap for the day. Some class favorites are always fuming with oxides, clear and white crackle and naked raku. Spending the day with a national treasure is a rare treat and not to be missed. Bring up to 6 pots measuring no more than 9 inches tall and 8 inches wide, fired to cone 08 for best results. Pots are always on hand for purchase.

Surface decorating with Kym Owens: learning the steps, working with colored slips and creative mesmerizing designs onto greenware (no need to bring anything).

Saturday Night Artist's Talk and Dinner 5-7pm (dinner is included in the price, additional guests $35)
