You are invited to the first-ever McKinney Comic-Con hosted by the McKinney Public Library! Connect with fellow comic enthusiasts to celebrate all things art, cosplay, and fantasy. From cosplay contests, vendors, an art workshop, and live music, this is the ultimate event for fans of all ages!

We will be hosting three cosplay contests with different age categories. Get your costumes ready!

Cosplay Contests: 12:30 p.m.- 2:00 p.m. ( kids, teens, and adults):

Cosplay contest rules:

1. Contestants must register to be considered in the cosplay competition. A sign-up sheet will be available on the day of the event at the welcome booth. The cut-off for signing up is at 12:20 p.m. The contest commences at 12:30 p.m.

2. Contestants under the age of 18 must have consent from a parent or guardian to compete.

3. Costumes must be handmade or significantly altered from store-bought items. Commissioned or purchased costumes are prohibited.

4. Weapons and props are allowed as long as they are not functional (no real weapons or sharp items) and don’t pose a threat to contestants or attendees. These will be checked by staff before the contest.

5. Nudity and body paint costumes are prohibited. Costumes should be kept family-friendly and not offensive. The staff has the final say in what is prohibited.

6. Misconduct or violation of these rules or library policy will result in disqualification.

7. All contestants will be judged based on accuracy, creativity, craftsmanship, and overall presentation.

8. Each contestant will have a maximum of 1 minute to display their costume.

9. Judges' decisions are final and binding.

10. The age categories will be kids (11 or younger), teens (12 to 17), and adults (18 and up). Prizes will be awarded to 1st and 2nd place in each age category.
