This workshop is part of the Green Ambassador Certificate 12-module community education series.Hear from industry experts Prof. @John McCaskill and @Philip Samson, engage in interactive exercises, and explore real-world solutions. A green economy is defined by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), as low carbon, resource efficient and socially inclusive. In a green economy, growth in employment and income are driven by public and private investment into economic activities, infrastructure and assets that allow reduced carbon emissions, waste and pollution, enhanced energy and resource efficiency, and prevention of the loss of biodiversity, across the full life cycle of processes and products. The 12 modules will be taught in-person by experts from various sectors and will also be available from an online learning platform.Each module covers challenges, solutions, regulations, standards, technology innovations, success stories, actions checklist, blogs, resource libraries and interactive exercises. Resources include businesses (e.g. farm to table restaurants, refilleries), products (e.g. reusable grocery bags and produce bags) and services (e.g. eco dry cleaning, recycling and composting center) recommendations to help you in your journey to sustainability. Completion of the quizzes will yield a certificate available for display in social media.Optionally, join a litter cleanup, prior to each workshop, from 8:30 am - 9:30 am, at a park close by. Help us protect our parks and wildlife, keep our waterways clean, learn environmental responsibility, and build a healthier community.
