To commemorate American Heart Month and promote heart-healthy behavior, South Texas Health System Heart invites you to take part in our Heroes with Heart 5K on Saturday, February 28, 2026.

This year’s run is dedicated to service industry professionals who have survived and thrived with heart disease.

Share your own story and run photos/videos with us at #STHSHeroesWithHeart.

All proceeds benefit Goodwill’s free education and training programs in the Rio Grande Valley.

Race Day Schedule:
5K starts at 7:30 a.m.
Main Parking Lot
South Texas Health System Heart 1900 S. “D” Street

Entry Fees:
Individual – $25 early / $35 late
Kids aged 5 to 12 – $10
Seniors 55+ – $15
Staff $20

Early registration ends January 30
Registration deadline: February 20 at noon
5K early registration fee includes T-shirt, bib and medal. T-shirt not guaranteed with late registration.

Award Categories:
1st, 2nd, 3rd place will be recognized in each age division (Male & Female).
Adults: 13-14, 15-16, 17-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and up
Kids: 5-7, 8-9, 10-12

Packet Pickup:
12 p.m. - 6 p.m. | Friday, February 27 at South Texas Health System Heart, Clinic Conference Room, 1900 South D Street, McAllen, Texas 78503

Packet pick up will also be available for late check-in on Saturday, February 28 from 6:30 a.m. to 7:15 a.m. in STHS Heart Clinic Conference Room located at 1900 South D Street, McAllen, Texas 78503.
