The 2026 Community Advocacy and Violence Prevention Summit is led by an interdisciplinary group of community organizations, violence prevention leaders, and Loyola University educators committed to addressing the root causes of firearm violence.This event invites attendees to engage in thoughtful dialogue on the impact of firearm violence on our communities and examine its structural and systemic roots nationwide. Conversations will also explore policy and systems-level responses, including federal action and immigration-related considerations. Participants will leave with practical tools and strategies to advance gun violence prevention, advocacy, and community empowerment through shared learning and collective action.In addition to a keynote address, the summit will feature presentations from local Chicago community leaders, dynamic panel discussions, and a resource fair highlighting organizations working to prevent firearm violence. Community art submissions will also be showcased. Grab-and-go lunch and refreshments will be provided.This event is FREE and open to the public.
