- **Event Description**: This is the second vintage computer meetup at the Roosevelt Room at the public library in Maynard Massachusetts, 77 Nason St. The event will be for 3 hours, running from 11am -2:00 on Saturday June 20. The event is open to the public.

The meeting room is on the first floor of the library, can accommodate 50 people, and has multiple tables and 8 electrical outlets, so we should have plenty of room to set up multiple things and have some fun!  Please feel free to bring something to demonstrate or show off, it can be a full working computer setup, or something smaller, or even a static display (e.g., something historically interesting that is broken, or memorabilia, etc.)  If we have the delightful situation where there is more stuff brought to the meetup than there are power sources and tables, we'll figure out a way to share and take turns. We're all friends here!

This is a description I wrote for the first event in January 2026, which was a great success.  I look forward to seeing you (and your totally awesome vintage computer equipment) there!


"People have asked me what I would like them to bring - my recommendation is to bring something that you are greatly interested in! My own focus is on 1990s PCs and I'll probably bring one of those, but I know there is a lot of interest for earlier and more recent things, as well as things that aren't X86 PCs such as Commodore 64s, Apples, AMIGAs, Atari computers, and that's all welcome as well! I have fun seeing and learning about new things related to vintage/historical machines and I imagine the same can be said about many of us, so just bring something related to vintage computers that you'd like to show off! Please also feel free to post about what you might be bringing in case that inspires others to have ideas about what to bring/not bring.

What are we going to do? There's no set schedule, but some general thoughts are:
-MUSEUM - admire cool old hardware/computer setups that people bring
-DEMO - demonstrate your hardware, show off the multimedia capabilities of your vintage "multimedia computer", run demos, play music on your rare soundcard, run games, play a network game such as Doom across multiple computers, the skies the limit, show us something cool that your hardware can do ?
-DISCUSS - talk about vintage computers, your history in the hobby and/or computing or programming industry if applicable, the history of what you brought to show off, what you like to do with these machines, your most interesting finds in recent years, discuss the latest software/hardware homebrew/indie projects you're following, discuss how to repair or fix software/hardware issues and troubleshoot those issues with the group in person if there are knowledge people in attendance that can help you!
-GRAB BAG - if you have a small box of "junk" or low value vintage computer-related parts or software that you don't see yourself using anytime soon but you don't want to throw it out, consider bringing it and putting it up for grabs in case anyone in attendance needs or has an interest in some of it!"
