Sanctuary Cultural Arts Center is proud to bring back a beloved Boston tradition with Gospel Brunch featuring Gordon Michaels & Company, happening Sunday, December 14, with a seating at 10:30 a.m.
Born in the Bronx, Gordon Michaels began singing at age three and quickly found his voice in gospel and musical theatre. A graduate of New York City’s famed Music & Art High School (the inspiration for Fame) and the Boston Conservatory of Music, his extraordinary talent has carried him around the world—sharing stages with legends like Patti LaBelle, Jennifer Holliday, James Taylor, Aerosmith, Rod Stewart, Cissy Houston, Keith Lockhart, Peter Cetera, Deborah Cox, Tramaine & Edward Hawkins, and Natalie Cole. He’s also performed as a special guest soloist with the Harlem Gospel Choir at the Vatican for Pope John Paul II’s internationally televised Christmas Eve celebration.
Michaels created and hosted the first Gospel Brunch at the original House of Blues in Harvard Square, Cambridge—a now-closed venue that helped launch a citywide love affair with gospel brunch culture. Now, Sanctuary is honored to continue that tradition. Set in a beautifully restored former church, the venue provides the perfect setting for an uplifting morning filled with music, soul, and community. Guests can enjoy a delicious southern-inspired brunch from Gloria Moon Catering.
