Operation Backtrack:

The Wisconsin National Guard have gone back on their treaty with the DakoSlav forces in the Central Wisconsin Region. 
WI-NG Forces have maintained independent control of the state for several years following the federal collapse. DakoSlav Forces had previously been granted humanitarian access to cross the Illinois DMZ for evacuation or aid to DakoSlav Citizens in the settlements beyond the old Wisconsin Dells. 

We suspect the WI-NG Airbase being so close has triggered a change of heart. 

WI-NG Forces have allied themselves with units from the former Federal Forces and have swept into the previously independent Dakoslav Settlements near Mauston. 

Internal units as well as guard unit units and regulars have been cut off in the Dells. militia units and army support units are fighting their way north to break through to allow them to either retreat safely or maintain a foothold in the area.   

Dakoslavian forces have a secure perimeter set up in a small village, bordering the larger settlement, The town is constantly being contested with a solid base of Wisconsin National Guard established at a northern checkpoint. The Wisconsin National Guard is stretched on resources and has no functioning vehicles so they are at a disadvantage. However this has allowed them flexibility to harry and harass DakoSlav Convoys and assets grinding operations to a halt. 

The History:
In the Mid 90s as the Balkan Wars raged, the US maintained close ties to the small micronation of Dakoslavia. Many Dakoslavian citizens found a 2nd home in the united states in the SE and Midwest pursuing communities, education and business. 

During the 2nd Quarter of the 2000s, the greater united states began to fragment. Differing ideals and goals, often at direct opposition to neighboring states lead to deterioration of the union and eventual Balkanization. 

In the time between the the Balkan Wars and the fall of the union, the Home Nation of Dakoslavia had grown. While small geographically it was able to leverage its production and assets and build itself a small empire. Coupled with the now "acquired" assets left by its former US allies before they abandoned foreign bases, the Home Nation found itself in a uniquely stable position as the world burned. 

As the US fragmented, Dakoslavian communities in the SE and Midwest begged for aid from the Homeland. 

The Dakoslavian Armed forces heeded the call. Para Regiments and elements of the 70-72nd Commando Regiment dropped into key abandoned bases near citizen communities. Airfields, Bases and infrastructure in a chain from Florida to Indiana were secured with follow on peace keeper forces from the Army, and EU Assistance forces landing in Florida. Images of the Dakoslavian Paras jumping in to secure and save the college students at the Indiana Institute for Technology and FSU in florida, saving them from roving militias and hostile local would be warlords made international news.

In the years following the peacekeeping force established a semi permanent state within the remains of the former US. New Dakoslavia. 
With economic and military support from many former antagonist states to the US they have become and entrenched bulwark. 

Socially they maintain heavy Serb and middle American traditions. Family, Church and a strong state. 
While trending toward what former US citizens might call authoritarian the territory of New Dakoslavia thrives and provides a much better life for its citizens than many of the former US factions. 


What is Dakoslavia:
Originating from CML's days providing OPFOR Services to the US Military, Dakoslavia was a colloquial term for the production company owners property adjacent a military training range. What started as a fun joke on a map became the backbone for lore!

Is it silly? Yes! Serbian Adjacent nation having the projection power to send peacekeepers to a Balkanized US is a lore flip and makes it fun. 

What is this event:
It is a expansion to the existing Contract Wars system. Still using the capture point Skirmesh system it dramatically expands the game to TWO days and adds in story, lore and missions. As we continue these there will be 3rd Party Factions, major world events, social events and more!
