Cassidy is a young mother of a 3-year-old and a 1 1/2-year-old
In November last year, Cassidy got acute necrotizing pancreatitis from a gall stone getting stuck in the bile duct. In January she almost died her whole body turned yellow and she went into kidney failure she was in the hospital from November through march then back again in May to have her gall bladder taken out, she also had 7 procedures to remove all the dead parts of the pancreas and now all she has left of her pancreas is the head. She has lost over 160 pounds since November. 2 months ago, Carle said they couldn’t do anymore and offered her hospice and then put in a referral to Barnes. Barnes finally did an MRI when nobody else ever did and they found that the pancreatitis has now caused
Superior mesenteric artery syndrome    Disconnected pancreatic duct syndrome also which are both life threatening she can’t eat any real food just the feeding tube and she still gets sick Barnes is putting together a plan which is at least surgery if not more. One will probably be a complete TPAIT which is the complete removal of the remaining pancreas and part of the spleen which will leave her diabetic forever but if it saves her life, it’s worth it. We should be finding out about surgery this week
