These two bands put on a killer show at the Distillery last fall and we are thrilled to have them back.
Terraplane Lane (formerly known as the Speakeasies) is one of the area's most fun up-and-coming bands. Born only a couple of years ago from the South Shore blues improv scene, this 6-piece collective has developed into one of the most dynamic and reliable live acts on the greater Boston scene. They masterfully blur the lines between blues, soul, and rock, captivating audiences with their fresh take on choice covers and expertly crafted original compositions. They are fronted by vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Jason Cardinal and vocalist/guitarist Benjamin Sangiolo and they are backed by drummer Jeremy Sheehan, bassist Gregg Marcus and the band's signature "Reed Section" of Stu Barer on harmonica and David Stringham on saxophone. They consistently deliver high-octane performances with a juke-joint energy that keeps the crowd moving from the first note to the last.
One Dime Band - The core of this SHK-crowd favorite band is John Brauchler on guitars and Paul Gallucci on vocals and harp. They bring a masterclass in roots music to the stage, blending the grit of the blues with the smooth grooves of R&B and soul. John and Paul have won the Best Blues Act of the year twice, first with the Boston Blues Society and second with the Granite State Blues Society - and had the honor of representing both organizations in the International Blues competition that is held annually in Memphis.
