Join us for three fantastic days of diesel traction at the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway as our popular Summer Diesel Gala returns from Friday 7 to Sunday 9 August.

Whether you’re a lifelong enthusiast, a keen photographer or simply looking for a memorable family day out, this is your chance to experience an intensive timetable of heritage diesel operations through the stunning Derbyshire countryside.

Our gates and station café will open from 8:00am each day, serving breakfast sandwiches, tea and coffee to help fuel your day of diesel action.

? Special exhibits and behind-the-scenes access

We’re delighted to welcome the LMS 10,000 Group, who will have their main frames on public display in the car park. Their team will be on hand throughout the weekend to answer questions and share updates on this exciting restoration project, with access to their engine shed also available.

We’ll also be joined by the Derby Lightweight Preservation Group, who will host an exhibition stand on the platform and offer guided tours of their driving car in the main running shed.

Don’t miss our exclusive Saturday evening train featuring the guest locomotive.

The Apollo Bar and RMB bar will be open, serving a range of real ales and drinks.

At Duffield Station, Tom Said’s Micro Brewery will be offering a selection of local beers and ales.
