A Space to Return to Yourself
You are warmly invited to join us for the next Rhythm & Roots Drumming Circle, a monthly gathering created with care, intention, and deep respect for each person who enters the space.

This is not a performance space, here is nothing to get right & no rhythm to keep up with.

Instead, this is a space to arrive exactly as you are. The drum becomes a bridge, between body and breath, between inner and outer worlds, between individuals and the shared field of the group. Through rhythm, we begin to gently peel away the noise of the day and return to something more natural, instinctive, and deeply human. Whether you feel energised, overwhelmed, disconnected, curious, or unsure, you are welcome here.

A Trauma-Informed, Inclusive Environment
Everything about this circle is held through a trauma-informed lens, meaning:

• You are always in choice

• Participation is invitational, never expected

• Rest is just as valued as rhythm

• You can step in and out of the space at any time

• Your boundaries are respected without question

There is no pressure to share, drum, or engage in any way that doesn’t feel right for you.

This is a space where your nervous system is supported to settle, soften, and regulate at its own pace.

The Space Itself
The hall is transformed into a contained, intentional environment designed to feel safe, warm, and grounding.

At the centre sits a simple altar and a candle “campfire,” symbolising a modern hearth, a place where people have gathered for thousands of years to share rhythm, story, silence, and connection. The circle structure creates equality, no hierarchy, no front or back, just a shared human experience.

The Flow of the Evening
The evening unfolds slowly and organically across two hours, allowing enough time for depth without rush:

Arrival & Landing

You’ll be welcomed into the space and invited to settle, arrive in your body, and connect with the drum through breath and gentle awareness.

Opening the Circle

We begin by acknowledging the elements, setting a shared intention, and gently arriving as a group.

Drumming Journey

Guided by Emma Harrison Clay, the rhythm begins simply and builds naturally. There is no expectation—just an invitation to explore sound, stillness, repetition, and flow. Some may drum, some may listen, some may close their eyes and journey inward.

Talking Stick Circle

A moment of human connection, sharing names, how you’re arriving, or simply listening. Everything shared is held in confidentiality.

Optional Cacao

A gentle, optional offering to support grounding and heart connection.

Integration & Grounding

Held by Samantha Nobeebaccus, this part of the evening allows space to pause, notice, breathe, and integrate whatever has arisen.

Closing Circle

We return to stillness, with a simple one-word check-out, followed by closing the elements and the space.

Who This Is For
This circle is open to all adults and welcomes:

• Complete beginners (no experience needed)

• Those seeking grounding or nervous system support

• People exploring healing, self-connection, or expression

• Anyone longing for real, human, non-performative connection

• Those who feel unsure but curious

You do not need to identify as “spiritual” or “musical”, just human.
