The Scioto Valley Brass & Percussion Co. (SVBPC) was formed in 1993 to provide an opportunity for adult brass players and percussionists in the central Ohio area to entertain audiences with brass band concerts in the tradition of the British brass bands of  100 years ago. SVBPC enjoys continuing the tradition while adding its own fun and flair. What sets the SVBPC apart from other bands is that while the SVBPC plays in the tradition of the original brass bands, SVBPC encourages camaraderie and hijinks among the members while working to create a unique and fun musical experience for the audience.

The Scioto Valley Brass and Percussion Company is led by Dr. Christopher Hoch. Dr. Hoch is also the director of THE Ohio State University Marching Band and the University Athletic Bands.
