- **Event Description**: Suicide is preventable when we know what to do. This session introduces safety planning as a life-saving tool for those experiencing suicidal thoughts. Participants will learn how to create a plan that includes coping strategies, support resources, and reducing access to lethal means. The session will also cover how to have effective, compassionate conversations around means safety. This evidence-based skill is vital to preventing suicide and saving lives.

TRAINING DATE:  September 25th, 2025
TRAINING TIME: 10AM to 3PM
TRAINING LOCATION: Holiday Inn Conference Center, Martinsburg, WV

Instructors: Michelle Toman of Brother Up Foundation and Barri Faucett of Prevent Suicide WV. 

Training Provided through a partnership with the WV Department of Education and Marshall University Research Corporation. 

* The training is free, but registration is required. 
* This is an in-person only training; must be present for the duration of the training. 
* 1 hour lunch break from 12N to 1PM. (Lunch not provided.)
