Bookbinding - Case Binding

Case binding is the traditional, durable method for creating hardcover books, involving folding pages into sections (signatures), stitching the sections together to form a text block, reinforcing the spine, and then gluing the text block into a rigid case made of board covered in paper, or cloth. In this workshop we'll be using high quality120gsm plain white Munken paper to create a text block, and you'll have the choice of speciality papers, pattern fabric and Buckrum for the casing, and marbled papers for the end papers. Once you've created your own book you will understand the stages of this method of bookbinding you'll be able to create a casing for a text block from an existing book.
