Pete Ross & The Sapphire formed in 2011 and built their name through years of touring across Europe. The band released a series of records on Beast Records and became known for a sound that sits somewhere between country, folk, blues, and rock, often leaning toward the darker end of the spectrum.

A regular presence on the European live circuit, the band appeared three times at the Binic Music Festival and shared stages with the likes of The Drones, Cash Savage & The Last Drinks, Charlie Owen, and The Johnnys. Long touring runs and festival appearances helped establish the band within the alternative and blues scenes and sharpened a live sound built on atmosphere and narrative rather than polish.

Over time, that live experience fed back into the songwriting. The music gradually moved away from its country roots toward something more brooding and electric, with longer, more exploratory songs and a growing focus on mood and space. This shift came to define the band’s recorded output and stage presence alike. A live recording from their early days, released on the band’s 10th anniversary, captures that transition as it was unfolding on stage, documenting the band at a turning point between styles.

Now based in Sydney, Pete Ross & The Sapphire are entering a new chapter, bringing their European road-tested songs to new audiences with the support of a strong local lineup. The focus remains the same with honest songwriting, dynamic performances, and music shaped by time on the road rather than trends.
