Evocative and alluring, Liz MartinÔÇÖs tender ballads and sophisticated pop have been described as ÔÇťwildly eclecticÔÇŽ quirky, playful hipness coupled with emotional opennessÔÇŽ an ever-changing, surprising rideÔÇŁ - Lucky Oceans.
Sydney-based award winning musician, Liz Martin has performed extensively throughout her hometown including ÔÇśWalking on AirÔÇÖ with Aerialise troupe at the Opera House Studio; ÔÇśNight TimeÔÇÖ and ÔÇśMusic for TreesÔÇÖ programs at The Carriageworks; and numerous headliner gigs at venues including Venue 505, The Opera Bar, Riverside Theatres, The Australian Museum, The Red Rattler, and Camelot. Liz has released 2 solo albums and 2 EPs, composed original music for Restless Dance TheatreÔÇÖs work ÔÇťTouchedÔÇŁ, and has received a gold record for her work with Paul Mac.
8pm The Falling Seeds
The Falling Seeds is a collaboration between Abi Tucker and Julian Curwin. After a chance meeting in an East Sydney pub, the pair started writing together, culminating in a self-recorded album, then mixed by respected singer songwriter and recording engineer Brian Campeau. The album tells something of a fantasy story through its 10 songs, which traverse a variety of genres, helped along by the percussion of Jess Ciampa and the brass of Simon Ferenci.
Abi Tucker is a singer, songwriter, actor and writer who has contributed to various projects in TV, film and stage. Abi has had a career spanning two decades in both music and acting, including the release of two independent records Dreamworld (2003) and One December Moon (2008), roles in The Secret Life Of Us, Wildside, Heartbreak High, The Wog Boy, McLeod's Daughters, in which some of her songs are featured, and ABC's Playschool. Abi's theatre credits include Poor Boy for the MTC / STC, The Bell Shakespeare production of 'As You Like It' and most recently, The Fiery Maze - written by Tim Finn and Dorothy Porter performed at The Malthouse Theatre and The Spiegeltent at the Sydney Festival in 2017.
Julian Curwin is a composer and multi-instrumentalist who works in a number of different and varied projects. He leads The Tango Saloon, a blend of tango with spaghetti western (among other things) ÔÇô the band has released four albums, the 2006 self-titled debut via US label Ipecac Recordings, followed by Transylvania (2008), Shadows & Fog (2012) and Suspicion (2015). Julian can also be seen playing around town with The Mango Balloon, Baby et Lulu, The Fantastic Terrific Munkle and Darth Vegas.
