# Event Details

- **Event Name**: Wild Church Service
- **Event Start and End Date**: Sun, 27 Sep, 2026 at 04:00 pm – Sun, 27 Sep, 2026 at 05:00 pm
- **Event Description**: A monthly one hour service with a spiritual theme including a reflection, wander & ponder time (10 mins. solitary directed time in nature), passing the peace, sharing our abundance (a community member brings something to share), praying together (sharing our laments and gratitude) and always... tea. BYOMug and Folding Chair.

September Theme: The First Thing We See
Activity: Making a stick TV remote to watch the natural world
Reflection: Every morning, let me ask you: what is the first thing that you see? Is it a device screen or the radiant morning sunshine? "The world is full of distractions that seek to pull your mind from the source of life."

*NOTE LOCATION CHANGE: We are meeting at the Presque Isle Ice Cream area among the covered picnic tables. You will see yellow UP WILD signs.

Wild Church is: A spiritual home for the seekers of beauty, wonder, & awe; where the 'church goers' supplement their journey and the 'misfits' finally feel connected within the congregation of paper birch trees & squawking geese via the Mystery which creates all things.

Foundations
● Meet outdoors with nature, not just in nature. The essence of holiness is all around us. (When we meet indoors be intentional about being surrounded by nature.)
● Foster a sense of kinship, reverence, awe and wonder
● Gather in community (church) - not individual
● Time for listening to Holy Spirit
● Tending to the spirit/soul work, opening to transformation that grounds us in ancient wisdom and in the emerging story
● We are living in a watershed moment. We create space to tend to the grief we are carrying, we are also humble enough to re-imagine how church can be a source of healing instead of "fill in the blank".
● To go from (hurting -> healing -> helping) with the help of one another.
