Forty-five years on, Stevie Wonder’s Songs in the Key of Life remains one of the most celebrated albums in music history — widely regarded by critics and musicians as one of the greatest records ever made.

Brisbane’s own Justin Stephenson, one of the city’s premier vocalists and a consistent sell-out performer at the Brisbane Jazz Club, brings this iconic masterpiece to life in a special performance for the Jazz & Blues Collective. With nearly 25 years of performing across Australia and internationally, Justin cites Stevie Wonder — and this landmark album — as his greatest musical influence.

Long known for his acclaimed Stevie Wonder tribute shows, Justin (aka J-Funk) pairs his smooth, soulful vocals with dynamic and polished arrangements to deliver an experience that is both uplifting and unforgettable. Audiences can look forward to beloved hits including Isn’t She Lovely, Superstition, Master Blaster, You Are the Sunshine of My Life, and more.

Joining Justin onstage are some of Brisbane’s finest musicians — James Sandon (drums), Robert Flay (bass), and Aaron West (guitar). Together, The Justin Stephenson Ensemble will honour this timeless album by presenting Songs in the Key of Life in its full original sequence.
