THE MOORS
by Jen Silverman
directed by Wendy Almeida
ABOUT THE PLAY...
Two sisters and a dog live out their lives on the bleak English moors, dreaming of love and
power. The arrival of a hapless governess and a moor-hen set all three on a strange and
dangerous path. The Moors is a dark comedy about love, desperation, and visibility.

http://www.branchrivertheatre.org/auditions.html
*Please bring your calendar with you!
*Although the play takes place in an elegant, ancient mansion on the English moors (circa 1840), the characters do not have British accents and the play is about the present. Huldey and Emilie each have a song. While the actresses who play these roles don’t need to be singers, they do need to be able to carry a tune. Anyone interested in these roles will be asked to sing a phrase or two of any song they choose - without accompaniment.
*During the course of the play, Agatha and Emilie exchange two passionate kisses. These will be carefully choreographed, but actresses auditioning for these parts must be willing to meet the
playwright’s intentions.
