The mission of Marion County Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics provides opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, and experience joy. Participation encourages friendship among other Special Olympic athletes and the community as well as the sharing of gifts, skills, and love.
