The Honor Run Returns to Matter Park – May 16, 2026
The Honor Run is returning to Matter Park this Memorial season, and our community is invited to come together to honor the life and legacy of all who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country and to show our gratitude to those who continue to serve.
Originally founded by the Bowen family more than 10 years ago, this meaningful event carries forward the spirit of the original Run for Freedom.
Built on remembrance, gratitude, and unity, the Honor Run continues to honor our men and women in the Armed Services while bringing the community together in reflection and respect.
Funds raised at this event make it possible for the Grant County Family YMCA to give active military personnel free memberships and financial scholarships to retired personnel.
Hosted and promoted by the YMCA, the 2026 Honor Run will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 9:00 AM at Matter Park.
Participants may choose between a 5K run or a 1-mile walk, both following the scenic Mississinewa River.
This event is more than a race. Every step is a tribute, to the fallen and to those who continue to serve.
