- **Event Description**: The City of Marion celebrates the return of the Fall Into Marion Parade sponsored by Farmers State Bank on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 10 a.m. It is part of a full line-up of free community events happening throughout the month.
This year’s parade will celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary with a red, white and blue theme. Community members, businesses, nonprofits and organizations are encouraged to showcase their creativity with patriotic-inspired floats, decorations and attire as we celebrate this historic milestone together.
The parade will start at the intersection of 1st Avenue and 15th Street. It will travel north on 15th Street and then west on 6th Avenue from 15th Street to 9th Street. Both Marion and Linn-Mar High School marching bands will be featured, along with a variety of nonprofits, businesses and other organizations. Floats are encouraged, and prizes will be awarded.
To sign up to participate, please visit www.cityofmarion.org/fallintomarion and register online by Sept. 4. The registration fee is $40 for for-profit organizations and political entries and $1 for all others. Day-of entries will not be accepted.
