- **Event Name**: Monte's 5K and Mini Monte Dash
- **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 10 Oct, 2026 at 09:00 am (-07:00)
- **Event Description**: It's time to break a stride and bust a sweat for student scholarships! Join us for the fourth annual Monte's 5K and Mini Monte Dash during RAFT Weekend! RAFT (Reunion And Family Traditions) Weekend is our annual homecoming here at CSUMB! Every year we come together, as otters do, to form a raft as a campus community including students, staff, faculty, alumni, and family. Come support the annual tradition on campus that builds community, supports student scholarships, and promotes well-being! Attendees are required to register in advance and encouraged to donate to support the student scholarship fund. We are calling all families, students, staff, faculty, and community members to walk, run, or roll with our mascot, Monte Rey, through our beautiful campus.

Registration:
Monte's 5K is open to all members of the community and will raise money for student scholarships. All ages are welcome to participate (under 18 with a guardian). There is no age limit for participating. Volunteers must be 18 years or older. Participants with strollers are welcome, however, strollers must be in the last leg of the race for safety. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed at the race, with the exception of Service Animals.

Registration fees:
CSUMB Students: Free (with Student ID and promo code from MyRaft)

All other participants: $35 until Monday, August 31st, price increases to $40 after August 31, 2026 (Children under the age of 12 are free)

$20 from every registration fee goes directly to a student scholarship fund.

Do you want to sleep in but still support the cause? If would like to donate to student scholarships but not run in the race, please consider making a gift to CSUMB at https://donate.csumb.edu/.

Registration includes:
- Race bib
- Race Medal
- Race T-shirt
- Post-race refreshments
- Fun for all!
Entry fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable. If the event is canceled due to a force majeure event, there are no refunds.
