Golden Ring Combat returns to the famous Brennan's with the next chapter of Crucible—an electrifying event that continues to showcase the grit, heart, and evolution of new fighters entering the world of armored combat. This competition, open to both men and women, features five historically rooted categories that challenge each combatant's skill, strength, and spirit.

In sword and shield, fighters reenact the battlefield style common among medieval foot soldiers and knights, combining defense and striking in a dynamic test of timing and resilience. Sword and buckler, a favorite of 14th to 16th-century duelists and civilians, emphasizes agility and technique, demanding precise movement and control. The longsword division honors the iconic weapon of the late medieval knight—its two-handed design enables fluid, powerful strikes, drawing from traditions preserved in historical European martial arts manuals. Polearm combat echoes the brutal efficiency of battlefield weapons like halberds and bardiches, where reach and force dominate, simulating frontline melee scenarios. Finally, Outrance—the pro fight variant of the sport—delivers raw, full-contact engagements where only the best-prepared can endure. Rooted in the code of chivalric single combat “à outrance,” these duels are as intense as they are honorable.
