Although the basic principles of linocut are easy to learn, there are several things the beginner needs to know in order to produce successful prints.In this workshop you will learn:Which tools and materials to buyHow to plan your image and transfer it to the lino blockHow to safely use a range of cutting tools to create a range of marksHow to ink the block correctlyHow to print by hand (wooden spoon) and with a printing pressPlanning a multiblock design and working in layersColour mixing and colour blendsRegistrationBy the end of the workshop you will have a small edition of your print (A5 size) to take home and the knowledge and skills to continue making linocuts at home.This workshop is suitable for beginners and those with some previous experience. Maximum class size is 4 people.ScheduleThe workshop runs from 10am to 4.30pm on Saturday and Sunday.
