Pony Club Badge Session – Saddlery

Join us for our next Pony Club Workshop, all about Saddlery!
This 2-hour, practical and educational session is part of our Pony Club Achievement Badge series and is perfect for young riders who want to learn about the parts, care, and importance of tack.
During this session, riders will learn:
🐴 How to identify the main parts of a saddle and bridle, including the throat lash, noseband, browband, pommel, cantle, flaps, stirrup leathers, and stirrup irons
🪶 How to put on a snaffle bridle correctly and safely
🔍 How to care for and clean tack to prevent galls, rubs, mould, and damage
🧽 What equipment and cleaning items are needed for proper tack maintenance
🐎 How to identify common bits, including:
• Eggbutt / Loose Ring Snaffle
• Pelham
• French Link
• Kimblewick
• Snaffle with Cheeks
We’ll discuss why tack cleaning is so important for pony comfort and safety, and give everyone the chance to handle and identify real equipment during the session.
Badges:
Pony Club members can purchase the official Saddlery Badge for £5 to celebrate their achievement and add to their growing collection.
Who can attend:
Open to both Pony Club members and non-members (only members can receive the official badge).
Suitable for ages 6 years and up.
All experience levels are welcome – we tailor each session to suit the group.
