Pony Club Workshop – Introduction to Lunging

Join us for a fun and educational Pony Club Workshop introducing the basics of lunging!
This 2-hour, hands-on session is perfect for young riders who want to build confidence and understanding in groundwork and pony handling.
During this session, riders will learn:
🐴 What lunging is and why it’s done
✨ How to safely put on lunging equipment, including bridle, cavesson, roller, and side reins
🔍 How to check the fit and comfort of the equipment
🪶 How to prepare and position the pony safely before starting
💡 How to handle the lunge line and whip correctly (demonstration only)
🗣️ Basic understanding of voice aids and body language
This is a non-ridden, hands-on workshop where children can safely observe and participate in preparing ponies for lunging, developing confidence and skills from the ground.
Who can attend:
Open to all children interested in learning about ponies and groundwork.
Suitable for ages 6 years and up.
No prior experience required – we tailor activities to suit the group.
