Only held twice a year, this is a great way for some talented local chefs, sommeliers, and mixologist to get out of the kitchen and show off their skills for a small crowd of hungry diners!Last September, Chef Adam Gnau (who many of you will remember from his time at Maplewood's Acero Restaurant) was able to defend his title against some very challenging competitors. Chef Adam, currently the culinary director at Sasha's Wine Bar, is no stranger to the list of Best Chefs America and was the winner of KMOX's Food Fight Finale in 2022. Joined once again by mixologist Charlie Martin, the two reigning champs are once again jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire as they face one of Maplewood's newest celebrity chefs!Here to compete against the victors will be Chef Trent Garvey (executive chef of The Blue Duck). Chef Garvey is perhaps best known for winning Season 20 of "Hell's Kitchen: Young Guns". His victory on the show earned him the position of head chef at Gordon Ramsay Steak at the Paris Las Vegas. Following his time at Gordon Ramsay Steak, Garvey continued to work on the Vegas Strip and served as Chef de Cuisine at The Bedford by Martha Stewart and Executive Chef at Guy Fieri's Flavortown. By late 2023, Garvey returned home to The Blue Duck in Maplewood where he continues to share his love for food with the community that helped shape him. Garvey loves creating from-scratch food using local ingredients and prides himself on butchering, grinding, and curing his own meats. Chef Garvey will be joined by Karmen Rayburn who grew a small baking business into The Blue Duck. Over the past 15 years, she’s had the pleasure of creating and perfecting countless pastries and breads for her amazing community and looks forward to continuing this journey for many more years to come!There's no doubt we've got two VERY talented teams of chefs, but in the end, our attendees will decide who will return to battle again in the fall!Curious about how the event will procced? It's simple:-About a week before the event, each chef will receive a "Mystery Box" of Vom Fass items. With these items each chef will plan a three-course tasting featuring appetizer, entree, and dessert. These dishes will be cooked live during the event for guests to see the chefs in their element.-With each dish, knowledgeable wine sommeliers will be on hand to pour wine designed to complement and enhance the flavors of each dish. In total, guests will enjoy six total dishes (three courses each from two chefs) and six wine / cocktail pairings.-When all dishes have been enjoyed, attendees will vote on which chefs will be our winners! Though only one team of chefs can be crowned champion, the real winner is the guests who get to enjoy all these great dishes and drinks!Don't miss our next Vom Fass Chef Battle featuring these St Louis celebrity chefs cooking just for you!! Cost for this dinner is $160 per person, which again, includes six courses with drink pairings. Seating is limited to just 30 people so please don't wait too long to reserve your seat.
