But with this event being held exactly two weeks before Thanksgiving, well, it just seemed like the obvious thing to do.Martin Woods isn't just another winery, instead, it is an oak-forested sanctuary in the foothills of the western Willamette Valley. It is the home of Owner & Winemaker Evan Martin, who built the winery in 2017. The widely-lauded Martin Woods wines promote the notions of graceful power and elegant complexity — a delicately balanced tension of opposites that can only result from the combination of great terroir, observant farming, and meticulous, patient winemaking. Martin Woods is helping redefine the essence of what Oregon Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah can and should be. The wines take inspiration from and are benchmarked against the top wines of France, yet they always present the beautiful, singular voice of Oregon.Here to guide us through all these great bottles will be our very special guest and certified wine sommelier Shannon Behnen of Vintegrity Wines. Shannon's years of experience will be yet another perfect pairing to these great wines. Shannon always makes these events a lot of fun along with being educational. So if you want to sip some amazing wines, eat some great food, and learn a lot about wine this may just be the perfect event for you!This event will include five of the vineyard's wine, with each glass enjoyed with a complimenting food pairing. Pinot Noir is the essential grape for the bird and all the fixings. So maybe think of this as doing a little homework for what you'll pour for family and friends on Thanksgiving.
