For over twenty-five years, Dan and Nancy Chapel have cultivated a history rooted in sustainable farming and responsible wine-making practices. At Cardwell Hill Cellars, the estate's wines pay homage to their deep attachment to the soil and the desire to preserve this domain for generations to come. Focused on Burgundy varietals, the wines are both expressive and balanced, revealing the unique characteristics of each vintage. These efforts were richly rewarded in 2008, when they were named to the Wine Spectator Top 100 list. Anita and Joe were able to visit the Chapels in 2025 and taste their wines. Now, we want to do our part to share these wines with you!!This is the perfect event for Pinot Noir lovers!! Much of the Pinot Noir found today is fruit that originated from just two sources: France and Switzerland. For this special event, we are putting those to the test to see which one is the best. Are you Team France or Team Switzerland? Join us for a multi-course dinner to find out!In total, guests will enjoy five-wines each served with a fooding pairing. Representing Switzerland will be our very own Swiss Miss Anita! Anita, along with the team here at Vom Fass, will prepare two courses to serve with two different Swiss Pinot Noirs for the enjoyment of our guests. Representing France will be Nick Rugen, sommelier with Classique Wines and former Napa Valley chef, with years of experience pairing food and wine. Nick will also prepare two courses to pair with the two French originating Pinot Noirs. For the fifth course, we'll all be collaborating and pairing that dish that will be paired with a non-Pinot Noir (likely a Pinot Gris, it's still TBD).We'll also be welcome a very special guest to tell you all about the wines themselves. Joining us will be Dylan Walker, a self-proclaimed "cellar rat" who also happens to be the national sales manager for Cardwell Hill. Dylan will be briefly passing through St Louis, and we are honored to have him here to tell us all about the winery and the history of their Pinot Noir vines!How much would you pay for all that food and wine? $100? $200?
