10:30 - Registration & Warm up 

LEVEL 1 - 20 min halves 

11 - 11:20 - Level 1 scrim 

Break 10 min 

11:30 -11:50 Level 1 scrim - 2nd half 

Break 15 min 

LEVEL 2 - 30 min halves 

12:05 - 12:35 - Level 2 - 1st half 

Break 10 min 

1 2:45 - 1:15 - Level 2 - 2nd half 

Break - 15 min 

LEVEL 3 - 30 min halves 

1:30-1:55 Level 3 - 1st half 

Break - 10 min 

2:05-2:30 Level 3 - 2nd half 

BRING: Black & White shirt with derby numbers - all roller derby safety gear, including mouthguard and water-bottle. 

Junior roller derby is divided into 3 Skill Levels. Each level has a separate set of required skills and separate allowance for contact: 

Skill Level 1 – Level 1 skaters are becoming masters of their skates, learning basic game play and teamwork, and beginning to scrimmage and bout positionally. 
Skill Level 1 allows positional blocking only. Intentional contact with an opponent is not allowed. 

Skill Level 2 – Level 2 skaters are playing using pushing contact only in scrimmages and games. They are also learning advanced teamwork, rules and regulations, and strategic play. 
Skill Level 2 allows Lean Blocking only - Forceful Initial Contact is not allowed. After initial contact is made blockers can apply force to legal target zones with legal blocking zones. 

Skill Level 3 – Skaters who pass the Skill Level 3 Assessment demonstrate adult-level competency on skates and with the rules. 
Level 3 allows for scrimmage and play using full-contact rules.
If you are unsure of skill level please discuss with your coach. 

Depending on the numbers, Level 3 skaters may participate in the Level 2 scrim. 

OFFICIATING: Skaters are expected to officiate or shadow officiate at least one scrim they are not participating in. This is a great opportunity to develop officiating competency.
