To protect the lumbar spine, it is the task of asana to learn to bend and extend at the strongest and widest structures - the hip and shoulder areas. The aim is to bring more mobility to the thoracic vertebrae and thus protect the lower back.
Expect:-
1) To see and understand the structure of the spine, and how the lumbar, thoracic and cervical vertebrae move
2) Understand the other bony structures and their role in maintaining a healthy spine
3) Clear, concise instructions as to what to move, how to move it, what to activate, to release, to soften or to tighten
4) There will be partner work, to help you understand the body’s see- saw actions.
