Die international gefeierten Violinistinnen, Komponistinnen und Musikpädagoginnen Dr. M. Lalitha und M. Nandini – bekannt als LN Sisters oder Violin Sisters – verbinden in ihrer Arbeit die Tiefe der südindischen Klassik mit der Offenheit experimenteller Musikformen. Als vierte Generation einer Musikerfamilie stehen sie in einer lebendigen Tradition, die sie zugleich mit eigenständigem Stil und innovativer Technik weiterentwickeln.

Mit über zwanzig Veröffentlichungen und Auftritten auf bedeutenden Bühnen weltweit zählen sie zu den herausragenden Vertreterinnen ihres Fachs. Ihre Kollaborationen reichen von klassischen indischen Meistern bis hin zu internationalen Größen aus Jazz, Rock und Weltmusik.

Als kulturelle Botschafterinnen Indiens treten sie regelmäßig bei renommierten Festivals und Institutionen in Europa, Asien, Afrika, Amerika und Australien auf und wurden vielfach ausgezeichnet – unter anderem mit dem höchsten Musikpreis des Bundesstaates Tamil Nadu, dem Kalaimamani Award, sowie mit internationalen Forschungs- und Förderstipendien wie dem Fulbright Fellowship und dem Charles Wallace Trust Fellowship.

Neben ihrer Konzerttätigkeit widmen sich Lalitha und Nandini der Komposition, Forschung und Lehre. Ihre Projekte verbinden musikalische Tradition, interkulturellen Dialog und künstlerische Innovation – getragen von einer klaren Vision: Musik als universelle Sprache der Harmonie und Begegnung.
