Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Department of Performing Arts continues the Mainstage theatre season with Anton Chekov’s "The Cherry Orchard."
"The Cherry Orchard" runs February 19-21 and 26-28 at 7:30 p.m. and February 28 & March 1 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ted Paul Theatre at the Earley Center for Performing Arts, Minnesota State University, Mankato. All MSU students are invited to a FREE final preview on Wednesday, February 18 at 7:30 p.m.
Set in a grand estate with a once-glorious cherry orchard, this timeless play tells the story of the Ranevskaya family on the brink of change. As the trees bloom for what may be the last time, the characters confront the loss of their wealth, their past, and their future. Time itself seems to be slipping away as "The Cherry Orchard" offers audiences a reflection on memory, identity and the choices that define us.
Tickets are $18 regular, $15 for seniors ages 65 and older, children under 16 and groups of 15 or more; and $5 for MSU students. The Box Office is open 4-6 p.m. weekdays in the lobby of the Performing Arts Center, or buy single tickets online at MSUTheatre.com. The Box Office line is 507-389-6661.
