Manitowoc United’s beloved “Hockey Mom,” Claudia Klein, has been the heart and spirit of our hockey family for years. Three years ago, Claudia was diagnosed with a rare non-smoker’s lung cancer, Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase (ALK+). Through every appointment, treatment, and challenge, she’s met this fight with grace, courage, and her trademark smile — never missing a chance to cheer on her son, David, as he hit the ice for Manitowoc United Hockey.
Now, as David begins his senior year at Roncalli High School, Claudia faces her toughest battle yet. The medications that once helped are no longer effective, and the family is holding hope for a new clinical trial that could open another door in her fight. Claudia has had to step away from her role as an EL Assistant at Riverview Elementary, and her husband, Dan, has retired to care for her full-time.
To lift the Klein family during this difficult time, the Blue Line Club of Manitowoc invites you to come together as one strong hockey community at our home opener on December 5th at the Manitowoc County Ice Center.
